Our Focus is You

We treat you — the whole patient — not just your symptoms.
Functional Blood Chemistry

Many people who seek medical care do not always have a clinically identifiable disease. They are told they have “normal” labs – normal when compared to the rest of the sick population, but a long way from optimal health. Functional medicine doctors use optimal ranges to detect physiological changes. Evaluating these chemistry shifts enables us to treat the underlying cause of the dysfunction long before there is a diagnosable disease.

Nutrition and Supplementation

When we feed our body “empty” foods that supply no value other than to fill our bodies, our bodies start to malfunction. When we eat a clean, healthy diet, we may be stacking the deck in our favor, but there are other uncontrollable factors that may disrupt the process of digestion and absorption. When this happens we must supply the body the required nutrients through supplementation or nutritional IVs.

Intravenous Nutritional Therapy

A method of delivering a combination of high dose vitamin C, a mixture of B vitamins, and a mixture of minerals into the bloodstream. It is impossible to attain the high levels of nutrients through oral supplementation that can be administered intravenously. This method bypasses the gut, delivering nutrients directly into the bloodstream in an unaltered form that is very well tolerated, with minimal or no side effects.

  • What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic medicine stems from traditional healing methods, principles, and practices, and combines the wisdom of nature with the thoroughness of modern science. Naturopathic medicine focuses on holistic, proactive prevention, as well as comprehensive diagnosis and treatment.

  • The role of the Naturopathic Physician is to identify and remove barriers to good health by helping to create a healing environment, both within the body and without. By using protocols that minimize the risk of harm, a naturopathic physician helps facilitate the body’s inherent ability to restore and maintain optimal health.

Jennifer Robinson
FNP-C
Jennifer graduated from Boise State University and her nursing background is in acute trauma, neurology, and medical intensive care. While living and working in Australia for a year, she observed how a healthy diet and lifestyle could produce better results for her patients. This led Jennifer to her current interest in holistic medicine. When she returned to the states, Jennifer received her Master’s degree, becoming a nurse practitioner; then she and her husband moved back to Idaho and started a family. Jennifer brings her expertise to our patient care through intravenous nutrition therapy, physical assessment, and prescription medicine care.
Brandi
Clinic Manager
Brandi witnessed the miraculous results of naturopathic medicine as a patient of Dr. Shohet’s over 13 years ago. In 2007, she joined forces with him as his office manager. Brandi’s knowledge of all treatment modalities and supplements, her ability to coordinate patient care plans, and her infectious laugh and positivity make her a valuable asset to both the clinic and our patients.
Leigh
In charge of our Live Blood Microscopy and in-house testing, Leigh was a patient at Boise Naturopathic Medicine before she began working here. She also helps out at the front desk and in the IV room. Leigh enjoys helping our patients and practitioners gather more data for their journeys towards health and wellness. An avid, lifelong learner, she is happy to work at a job that allows her to learn something new every day.
Ophelia
With 11 years of phlebotomy experience, Ophelia (“Ophee”) is a very dynamic new addition to our office. She performs blood microscopy evaluations and helps run the IV room. She is particularly good with taking care of patients who are known to be tough or painful to “stick,” and her bubbly personality keeps everyone smiling.
Lara
Lara never tires from working with patients and being a part of their healing process. She is very passionate about teaching others about food feeding the body, instead of filling it up with toxins. We all benefit from her expertise in the kitchen and her practical cooking techniques taught at our educational workshops.
